The trail starts out in the natural setting and winds up through tunnels and old military bunkers before reaching the viewing platform at the crater’s summit. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of Oahu, Honolulu, and the south shore. During a clear day, you can even see the island of Molokai.
Another viewpoint in Oahu is the Pali Lookout, located at a 1,200-foot pali overlooking the windward coast of the island. This lookout is part of the Ko’olau Mountain range. If you want to take in more of Hawaii’s natural beauty, consider visiting Tantalus Lookout. It is a 20-minute drive from Waikiki or Honolulu. You can drive to the top of the lookout or take a taxi or moped up the hill. This viewpoint is a popular place to see the sun set and enjoy sunsets.
