In 1795, a group of Oahu warriors jumped over the cliffs at Nuuanu Pali. In fact, they were pushed over the cliffs by Kamehameha’s army. Workers found around 800 human skulls at the base of the cliffs, which is believed to be the remains of fallen warriors. The road was later rebuilt and is now known as the Pali Highway.
