Carpet Care Tips
Carpet can add color and texture to any room. Carpeting is not an easy task to maintain. These steps will help keep your carpet looking amazing.
Blot Spill
You should immediately clean up spillages. You can use white paper towels or white cotton towels to clean up liquid spillages. This will allow you the ability to determine when the stain is no longer pulling away. Do not rub, as this can push the spillage into the pile and cause the fibers to mat.
Dilute spot
If the stain persists, you can dilute it with club soda or seltzer.
Blot Again
Continue to blot the area with your heel or your foot using dry towels.
You can make your own spot-cleaning solutions by mixing a few drops clear dish washing detergent in water. About 1/4 teaspoon per quarter cup. Be careful not to soak the carpet. Blot gently, rinse with warm water, and then blot once more.
Fine steel wool can be used to remove minor ink, pet stains and water marks.
Spills on Plant Based Carpets
Blot any spillages immediately; fibers made from plant fibers like sisal, hemp, coir, jute and jute are less resistant to staining than synthetics or wool. You can use the Carpet Stain Removing Method to dry damp areas quickly.
The quicker you can remove a pet stain from carpets, the better. Carpets that have been soaked in pet urine can cause permanent damage to the carpet’s dyes, particularly beige carpets. Use a white cloth to remove any new stains. After absorbtion of as much moisture as possible, mix 1/4 teaspoon clear dish washing liquid with 1 cup tepid and blot with a dry towel. Keep repeating this process with a soapy towel, and then a damp towel until you are satisfied. Call a professional carpet cleaner if you have persistent odors or stains that are stale.
